PERTH, Australia (AP) -Former England star David Beckham is reported to have ruled out a move to Australia's A-League.
Tony Sage, owner of the Perth Glory which was one of three A-League clubs hoping to sign Beckham, said the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy midfielder had told him he would not be moving to Australia.
Sage told footballaustralia.com.au he bumped into Beckham at the London premier on Tuesday of the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever.
He said Beckham "looked me in the eye and basically said, `that would be nice, but it's too far away from my businesses.' It would have been great to have him at Perth Glory, but it looks like that won't be happening."
