LaQuanda Plantt, born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. The Art Institute of Atlanta alumni is the CEO and Casting Director of ElleQ Casting. A self declared ?Indie Casting Director?, LaQuanda founded ElleQ Casting in 2009 and has since cast numerous projects, that include SAG, as well as, non union, independent features, short films, music videos, television pilots, and web series?.
Her feature film credits include the upcoming ?King of Paper Chasin 2? and ?Finding Forever In Love?. Blue Lion Club Production?s award winning film, ?Breaking Up Is Hard To Do?, as well as, their highly anticipated new crime drama, ?Probable Cause?. ElleQ Casting has cast numerous short films in Atlanta which include, ?This Time?, starring Regan Gomez and Terri
Vaughn, ?Secrets She Keeps?, ?Who?s To Judge?, ?Creditors?, and the award winning ?Pinky Swear?.
In addition to Casting Director, LaQuanda is also one of the Producers of ?The Return of Brimsleys Walk? and the action packed web series ?Osiris?, starring Brad James.
Screenwriter, director, producer, author, actor, etc. Bobby M. Peoples is a man of many talents. We salute all pioneers in the pursuit of filmmaking. Without your ingenious talent and vision, there will be no future ? only a past for urban themed films. Bobby M Peoples always dreamed about entering the entertainment business. After his stint in the US Army, Bobby decided to actively pursue his goal and enter the acting arena. After being rejected on several acting gigs, he entered film school and studied the art & craft of music and video production.
He has done several projects for Dreamworks, Touchstone Pictures, New Millennium, to name a few. Bobby continued to have faith in his career and eventually became the captain on his own destiny thus heading his own flagship, ?The Peoples Network (TPN1).? A place where he could write, produce, direct, not only his own work but to aid others who cannot find the talent or resources to enter into the business. Born in Newark New Jersey, Bobby M Peoples is an only child. Raised by his grandparents while his mother was in the army. Bobby use to take his GI Joe toys and pretend to make movies with them, thus creating the imagination he has for films now. Bobby is more determined than ever to create a Hollywood of days of old. Taking pages from the life of legendary producer Roger Corman. Bobby dreams of creating above the line positions for eager and very talented people who come across his path, and need a chance to be seen and heard. Taking steps to being a leader, Bobby is someone that no one will regret they followed.
I joined the Blank Page Screenwriter?s Workshop in 2009 and ?nally got my muse in gear. I?ve since written a three part epic fantasy mini-series, a feature, and half a dozen shorts. I also now have more than 20 credits on IMDB as a Writer, Producer, Director, Director of Photography, Editor, Assistant Director, Actor, and as various other roles.
My last project was a ?lm short called ?The Rubicon.? I was the Writer, DIrector and Editor and I also played a supporting role. It is on the festival circuit now and so far it has won awards from the ?Best Shorts Competition,? the ?Indie Fest Awards? and the ?Accolades Competition.?
I plan to shoot at least two more shorts this year and am always keeping an eye out for talent to use in future productions. I have my own production company, Bright Forest Productions LLC in Roswell. I shoot with a Sony EX1 and Canon 60D and have a full Final Cut Studio edit suite. I am also an Apple Certi?ed Colorist and Editor.Recently I have started a new venture to try and bring some credibility to the whole
?festival/competition? circus.
It is called the ?Southern Shorts Awards? and o!ers short ?lmmakers a level playing ?eld to have their ?lms evaluated. Of note to Actors is the fact that we do not just judge the ?lm as a whole, but also consider individual performances, so it is possible for an Actor to win an award for a great performance even if the ?lm doesn?t.
