Bangalore will host the 48th edition of the Hero Indian Open from October 18-21. It will be a proud moment for the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) to host India?s most prestigious golf tournament. The earlier editions of this event have been held in New Delhi (NCR) and Kolkata and prize money of US $1.25 million will be offered. The event will see local Anirban Lahiri, Shiv Kapur, Gaganjeet Bhullar, 2009 winner C Muniyappa and European Tour players like Swede Peter Hanson, Scot Richie Ramsay and England?s James Morrison. The event will see the participation of 156 players that includes amateurs.

Lt Gen AKS Chandele, Vice President of the Indian Golf Union is pretty excited and confirmed that the top 35 ranked out of top 40 on the Asian Tour have already confirmed their participation. Mike Kerr, CEO of Asian Tour stressed that this golf course is one of the best with world class facilities and feels that the event will be a big success.???
