New Delhi, Sep 17
The Delhi District and Cricket Association (DDCA) Saturday said three under-14 players, who were found guilty of misbehaving with an airhostess, have been warned and were also dropped for two matches in the ongoing Dhruv Pandove North Zone Championship in Srinagar.
The DDCA, instead of taking any action against the players, Friday called back coach Raju Tandon and assistant coach Randhir Singh, who had slapped the boys and made them apologise to the lady.
But Saturday the DDCA decided to crack the whip on the cricketers as well.
"The players have been warned and we have also informed their parents. We will not tolerate indiscipline in the sport. The players have also been dropped for today's (Saturday's) match and the next game as well," said DDCA secretary general S.P. Bansal.
Asked why did they take action against the coaches instead of the players, Bansal said: "The coaches could have handled the issue in a better way. We are not trying to protect the players."
